Did you know that I was once "famous"? My practice was featured many times in Rochester, NY newspapers as being a cutting edge, innovative, and patient-centered solo practice. After I was featured on the front page of the Democrat and Chronicle, I would go grocery shopping and people would recognize me and ask, "Are you that doctor that was on the front page of the newspaper? Are you taking new patients?" My office phone rang off the hook in the days ensuing. My practice quickly filled to capacity!
Those days are long gone. For me, the most daunting part as I look to possibly open a new practice is not if I can do it, but rather, If I build it...will patients come?
